May 27-29, 2019, during the visit of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, held at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in the lobby of the National Library of Uzbekistan opened the book display of the great thinkers, poets and writers of Uzbekistan and Germany, translated into Uzbek and German languages.
An exhibition of works by representatives of German and Uzbek literature translated into Uzbek and German is presented in the framework of events held in cooperation with the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan in order to implement paragraph 63 of the Road Map of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Measures to Further Expand Multidimensional Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federal Republic of Germany ”dated February 1, 2019 No. PP-4145, aimed at improving the reading culture among the population.
The exhibition titled “Uzbekistan - Germany: Towards Expanding Multilateral Cooperation” took place of books by such German authors as Goethe, Schiller, the Grimm brothers, Hermann Hesse, Heinrich Heine, Franz Kafka, Erich Maria Remarque, Fritz Würtlen translated into Uzbek famous translators M.Akbarov, Y.Egamova, O.Ostonov, H.Rakhimov and works of such Uzbek writers and poets as Alisher Navoi, Babur, Abdullah Kodiri, Abdullah Kahkhor, Gofur Gulom, Odil Yokubov, Rakhmat Faizi, translated into German. It also presents articles from newspapers and magazines on the basics of translation, translation issues, political, economic and literary relations.
