November 2, 2017 in the conference hall of the National library of Uzbekistan in the framework of the VI National information library week "INFOLIB-2017" was held spiritual and educational evening dedicated to the 80th anniversary since the Foundation of the information-library center of the city of Tashkent "Bilim". The evening, where were talked about the history of formation and development of information-library centre "Bilim" was attended by the representatives of the Ministry for development of information technologies and communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the staff of the Republican information and library center, heads of regional ILC and the Republic of Karakalpakstan, experts of information and library institutions, educational institutions, the actors of the Uzbek National drama theatre, State music theatre named after Mukimi, members of the Union of writers and media representatives.
Opening the event, Director of the National library of Uzbekistan A. Abduazizov and the Director of the Republican information and library center A. Otakuziev welcomed the audience, congratulated the library-hero of the day with a solid date and wished him success in his future work. They talked about the history and present of the ILC "Bilim", which for 80 years is a spiritual abode for the population of Tashkent city. "The Central city library "Bilim" was organized in October 1937 with a book capacity of about 10,000 units. In different years it was headed by L. Estrin, A. Garmash, R. Davletcharova, R. Fedorina, Z. Morozova, V. Sklyar, A. Tyan, F. Yunusova, S. Rybkina. Now the Director is Kh. Karimova. In September 1972, the library received the status of Central city library "Bilim". On the basis of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On organizing information and library supply of the population of the Republic" dated June 20, 2006 of Central city library "Bilim" was renamed Information and library centre "Bilim". We sincerely congratulate all the employees of the centre and we wish you all health, happiness and luck, prosperity”, - said A. Otakuziev.
Also, the event awarded employees with letters of commendation for conscientious work, high professionalism and significant personal contribution to the development of libraries of the Republic.
The artistic performance of actors of the Uzbek National drama theatre, State music theatre named after Mukimi, Uzbek state University of world languages and the Republican specialized academic Lyceum of music and art graced the evening.
